Commencement Update

March 19, 2020 - 8:12am

By now you’ve heard that Humboldt State University has cancelled the May 16 Commencement ceremony to protect the safety of our Lumberjack community and their families. Families and students eligible to graduate are being contacted with more details.

Please know that this decision wasn’t taken lightly. Commencement is a special day recognizing milestone achievements and we, like you, share in the disappointment that we won’t be celebrating these accomplishments in person.

We’re working to find creative ways to celebrate our graduates' successes and we want your ideas too! Please share creative ideas for celebrating Commencement here.

Refunds are also available for unopened/unused regalia items:

  1. Purchased online through Herff Jones: Fill out the form online or contact their customer service center at 800-837-4235 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST). For those who haven’t picked up regalia packages, the Bookstore will handle shipping them back.

  1. Purchased in person at the Bookstore: Email with name, phone number, and best time and way to contact. The Bookstore is closed but their staff will respond with instructions on how to do the refund over the phone.

The situation is very fluid and we appreciate your patience as we work through decisions and share information.

We’re proud of the work and sacrifice our students have put into earning their degrees and we’ll do everything we can to help them celebrate.
