Guidelines on Health and Returning to Campus

March 23, 2020 - 1:33pm

The health and wellbeing of our campus community continues to be HSU’s priority as the University transitions into virtual operations and alternative modes of instruction.

As a reminder, anyone returning to campus is encouraged to follow HSU travel guidelines, based on the international and domestic travel guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control.

 HSU Travel Guidelines

  • If traveling internationally:
-- Individuals traveling from international destinations should remain off-campus for 14 days and self-isolate in their homes.
--Students returning to residence halls should call Housing at (707) 826-3451 before arriving on campus, allowing HSU staff to provide separate housing for their roommates. Self-isolated students will have access to food and necessities, according to self-isolation and social distancing guidelines.

  • If traveling domestically from an area with community-level spread:
--Stay off-campus for 14 days and self-isolate at home.
--Students returning to residence halls should call Housing at (707) 826-3451 before arriving on campus, allowing HSU staff to provide these students separate housing, if necessary. Self-isolated students will have access to food and necessities, according to self-isolation and social distancing guidelines.

  • If traveling from an area with no community level spread:
    -- No restrictions.

HSU continues to take necessary steps to ease and prepare for the possible impact of COVID-19.

Student Health Center Services

-- Clinic hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:45 a.m.-noon and 1-4:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday 9:45 a.m.-noon and 1-4:15 p.m. Hours are subject to change due to limited staffing.
-- The pharmacy is open normal business hours. Students will need to call (707) 826-3146 to order new prescriptions or refills first.
-- Counseling & Psychological Services can be contacted at (707) 826-3236. Staff or faculty needing additional support may call the Employee Assistance Program at (707) 443-7358.

Sanitation
HSU custodial staff are cleaning campus more frequently. During Spring Break, all classrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, other spaces, and high-touch surfaces-- including furniture-- were cleaned using a hospital-grade disinfectant. These spaces will be inspected to ensure they have been thoroughly cleaned.
