New HSU Work Arrangements Based on Age and Health Status

Based on new guidelines from the State of California, all CSU employees 65 and older or with underlying health issues that make them more vulnerable to COVID-19 must not come to campus and are advised to practice self-isolation. 

This new guidance is effective immediately. California’s governor asked today that individuals in these categories self-isolate. 

Affected HSU employees should contact their supervisor by phone or email on Monday for additional direction. Employees who do not want to discuss their age or a medical condition with their supervisor may contact Human Resources at (707) 826-3626 or via email at

Arrangements will be made for employees to be able to telecommute in support of the operations and mission of the campus. If telecommuting is not possible given the nature of the work assignment, they will be placed on administrative leave at their current rate of pay and for normally scheduled work hours.  Additional information about telecommuting will be shared in an upcoming message.
